NOTE: The amended Divorce Act which came into force on March 1, 2022,  has done away with words like “custody” and “access” . In their place we now have “decision making responsibility” and “parenting time;”

The Act also provides that “A party shall…to the best of their ability, protect any child of the marriage from conflict arising from the proceeding;”

“……the parties ……shall try to resolve the matters….through a family dispute resolution process (emphasis added).”
